Our Donors

The Fire Museum has been very fortunate to have the support of some of Cleveland’s most influential leaders. With their help we were able to develop our architectural plans, a project estimate was completed, and the majority of the demolition was finished. Our Pacesetters

Early in our fund-raising campaign we really got a “quick response.” With the support of the City of Cleveland and the Cleveland Fire Department, we launched a very successful payroll deduction drive with Cleveland’s firefighters.

Now more than 765 Cleveland firefighters are contributing up to $40 a paycheck and more than $75,000 a year. This is a huge help to the campaign. Click “Our Pacesetters” for a list of Cleveland Firefighters supporting the project.

 

Firefighters Lead the Way

In the fall of 2003 Cleveland Firefighters were facing draconian cutbacks, nevertheless more than 90% of them signed up to support the Fire Museum through payroll deduction. Read more...


Community Support is Strong

The Fire Museum and Education Center project is strongly supported by Chief Paul Stubbs of the Cleveland Fire Department, Local 93 Cleveland Firefighters Association and the Vanguards of Cleveland, a local chapter of the International Association of Black Professional Firefighters. The project has also been endorsed by the North Eastern Ohio and Cuyahoga County Fire Chiefs Associations, the Northeast Ohio and Cuyahoga County Mayor’s and Manager’s Association, Cuyahoga County Commissioners, U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown, and many others.


And we have the support of some of Cleveland’s most influential philanthropic leaders including Sam Miller of Forest City Enterprises, the Reinberger Foundation, the Jack and Lilyan Mandel Foundation, the John P. Murphy Foundation, the Bruening Foundation, and Eaton Corporation, just to name a few.
