Hudson Memorial Muster
Sunday, September 12th, 2010
The Fire Museum and the Western Reserve Fire Buffs Association will hold its annual fire engine muster on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at Barlow Park Farm at 1965 Barlow Road (off SR 91) in Hudson, Ohio. Scheduled hours for the muster are from 10:00 am to 4:00pm. A parade of apparatus through the City will occur at about 10:30 am. The muster is conducted in association with and assisted by the Hudson Fire Department, coordinated by Assistant Chief Jerry Varnes, son of the late Bill and Ida Varnes. Events will include hand-drawn and horse-drawn apparatus along with antique and modern motorized apparatus. There will be the opportunity to draft and pump for all interested. Following the parade all apparatus will be staged for a panoramic photo followed by a potluck lunch in the park pavilion at about noon. Then it’s time to pump water.
Once again Parker Browne is the manager of the event that will be conducted as a SPAAMFAA sanctioned muster using the National Incident Management System (NIMS) as the operational plan. The Fire Museum is a chapter member of SPAAMFAA. Members and friends are welcome. Bring your truck or just yourself and family. A modern apparatus display is also planned.
For more information on participating in the muster or volunteering at the site, contact Parker Browne at (330) 612-3567 or by email at Brownefire@aol.com. Come and have a lot of fun! Bring a potluck dish to share—pop, water, burgers and hot dogs will be provided.
